Microsoft SQL 2000
Accounts

What do I need to know about Enchanted Websites's Power SQL accounts?

To use an Power SQL 1, 2, or 3 account, there are some technical prerequisites that need to be met:

  • You currently have, or will have a Win2000 (Powersite) Plan, or Win2000 Plan+ hosting account with Enchanted Websites.
  • You will be using ASP, IDC or HTX to connect to this MS SQL Database.
  • You must be aware how to use the Windows Control Panel, as you will need to setup the ODBC connection after confirmation of your order has been sent to you.
  • Enchanted Websites' Power SQL 1, 2 and 3 packages only support MS SQL 7.0 and MS SQL 2000.  Enchanted Websites does not support any prior version of MS SQL for the Power SQL accounts.
  • Enterprise Manager will be required to upload the current database (using DTS) from your local PC, or server to your Power SQL account with Enchanted Websites. This software comes with MS SQL 2000 or MS SQL 7.0 upon purchase of the product.
  • There are only 2 ways to change your username's password:
    • Enterprise Manager can be used to change your Administrative Login's password.
    • Enchanted Websites' Customer Service Department can change your Administrative Login's password.
  • Enterprise Manager can be used to administer your database remotely.  Click here for details.
  • Automated data replication is not permitted with Power SQL 1, 2, or 3.
  • When ordering your Power SQL account, you will be required to provide the domain name that will be using the Power SQL account (top level domain or virtual host) and the database name.  Enchanted Websites will generate the login name and the password for you. The default login name will be your database name.
  • To order, fill in our form, indicating which Win2000 account you currently have, and which MS SQL 2000 plan you would like to add to your account.
